We’ve said it before and we’ll keep saying it: our bamboo and organic cotton clothing is designed to be worn, loved and handed down, not worn once and retired.
And while our fabric is made for everyday life with little people, a little bit of proper care goes a long way towards keeping those favourite pieces soft and beautiful for the next child too.
Wash cold and gentle
A cold, gentle machine cycle is all our bamboo and organic cotton blend needs.
Keeping temperatures low and choosing a gentle cycle helps protect the natural fibres, while also being kinder to prints, colours and embroidered details. Turn pieces inside out before washing for a little extra protection.

Skip the fabric softener
It might sound counterintuitive when you’re trying to keep baby clothes soft, but our fabric doesn’t need fabric softener.
Softeners can leave a coating on natural fibres that affects their absorbency and breathability over time. Our bamboo and organic cotton blend is beautifully soft on its own, so you can happily leave this step out.
Line dry when you can
Line drying is the gentlest option and helps clothing hold its shape for longer. Dry pieces in the shade where possible, particularly printed and coloured garments.
That said, we also know what life with small children looks like. If you’re up against it, follow the care label on your individual garment for tumble-drying instructions.

Loved clothes should look loved
One of our favourite things about natural fabrics is the way they soften and settle with wear. These aren’t clothes designed to sit untouched in a wardrobe. They’re made for crawling, climbing, beach days, messy lunches and everything in between.
Treat them gently in the wash and there’s every chance a favourite piece will still have plenty of life left when it’s finally outgrown.
Ready for the next little person
Once a piece has been outgrown, check for loose threads, stains or worn elastic and give it a fresh wash before tucking it away or passing it on.
Because some of the best baby clothes aren’t the ones that still look untouched. They’re the ones with a story, ready to start another one.
And if you have a Bam Loves Boo piece that’s already travelled through more than one little wardrobe, we’d genuinely love to hear about it.
